The Studio needs your help
Statistical evidence from "Proposals for Surrey Alliance Joint Actions 2010-14" show alarmingly high numbers of young people in the county with special and complex needs:
- 5,238 children with statements of special educational needs
- 3,928 children and young people with learning disabilities
- 500 children with child protection plans
- 800 children in care
- 3,440 young people who use drugs frequently
- 414 young people accessing substance misuse services
One of our aims at The Studio is to develop a sense of self-worth within the young people and their families that are registered with us, and also to put an end to the misconceived and dated opinion that the problems that our young people experience are induced through bad parenting.
You can help us achieve our aims in the following ways:
Direct donation
You can make a donation right now at Virgin Money Giving, which will take you to our dedicated secure page. If you are a UK taxpayer you can opt for your donation to be Gift Aided at no extra cost to yourself, and HMRC will add 25% to your gift, so increasing the benefit to us.
Friends of The Studio
We would like to encourage more regular supporters, or Friends, of The Studio. There are many ways to be a Friend to us, from volunteering your time or expertise, holding or participating in fundraising events, or simply helping to spread the word about our work. Friends will have a dedicated area on our website where they can keep in touch with each other and where we can honour their achievements.
You can also show your commitment by setting up a monthly donation via our page on Virgin Money Giving. Regular donations are vital to enable us to plan ahead, introduce new initiatives and help even more young people and their families.
Please complete the Friends registration form and either email it to sallott@studioadhdcentre.org.uk or print it and post it to the office address.
Fundraising events
These can take any shape or form, from a simple cake sale to a marathon. There are always sponsored walks, runs or bike rides going on in most locations and many will allow you to fundraise for your own particular charity.
Check out the BUPA Great Runs or RunBritain.com for details of events in your local area. Don't forget to set up your sponsorship page via Virgin Money Giving.
If you are a member of a sports club, or maybe the Rotary or Round Table, please encourage them to hold an event for us. Ask your employer if they will match-fund your sponsorship total.
The Studio is developing more of its own fundraising events, so have a look at our Past events page for more information.
Donations from your mobile
The Studio has set up a free JustTextGiving account to accept donations via your mobile phone. This is all you have to do:
Text our charity code – ADHD10 – along with your donation amount (max £10) to 70070. For example, text "ADHD10 £5" to 70070.
You can choose from the following donation amounts: £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 and £10, giving up to a maximum of £30 per month.
If you would like us to receive Gift Aid on your donation, please follow the simple instructions in the reply text from JustTextGiving.
All UK text messages to JustTextGiving are free on all networks, and all mobile operators will be passing on 100% of the text donation to charities. So it should cost you nothing to donate in this way, and because of JustTextGiving's partnership with Vodaphone The Studio pays no fees either!
eBay for Charity
The Studio is now registered to accept donations via eBay for Charity. So whether you are buying or selling you can now opt to make a donation to The Studio. You can even hold an online auction for us.
Our eBay for Charity page is here – The Studio ADHD Centre – so please make use of it and tell everyone you know.
Charity flowers
Send a beautiful bouquet or gift to someone anywhere in the country and earn 15% for The Studio. You can order online here or call their 24-hour order line on 0870 5300 600 to request a brochure. You can even add a message to your gift. Just mention ADHD when you order.
easyfundraising
This is a great site where you can shop for all the usual things, including groceries, from over 2,000 brand retailers, and by using their link you can earn a cashback donation for The Studio. You don't pay any extra, but up to 15% of each purchase is donated to us, and they have regular special offers.
Click here to register and start shopping!
Plus, by using their easysearch page, every time you search the web with easysearch instead of Google you'll raise even more for us. Each supporter can raise around £20 a year just by searching 10 times day.
Waitrose green token scheme
If you shop in Waitrose you will know about their Community Matters green token scheme. Each month three charities are selected from nominations. Customers are given one green token with their shopping to place in their chosen charity pot. At the end of the month the tokens are counted and the three charities are each given a share of £1,000 depending on how many tokens they have collected.
The Studio has been quite successful with this, receiving £200-300 each time. If you have a Waitrose near you, please go in and complete a nomination form for us. We work Surrey-wide and can supply any information you need.
We are always on the lookout for other fundraising opportunities and would welcome your suggestions.
Thank you for your support.

The case for early intervention
Our "Preventative Action is Cost-Effective" (PACE) report presents the economic and social arguments for providing early intervention and preventative services for children and young people with ADHD, high functioning autism and related learning disabilities in Surrey.
The Studio's multi-systemic approach has been shown to achieve positive outcomes in such cases and, as this report shows, it has the expertise to fill this gap in special needs provision.

CAMHS survey results
Following a period of research among parents, carers and young people who completed online surveys and attended stakeholder events across Surrey between July and October 2014, Surrey's Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) has produced its Engagement Report, which summarises key messages regarding perceived unmet needs and priorities for the service.
Family Voice
Family Voice Surrey (FVS) is the official Parent Carer Forum for Surrey, working with key decision-makers in education, health and social care to represent the families of children and young people with additional needs. You can read more about it on its website.
We urge you to sign up to be represented by FVS.
